Tubular Tribute is a musical group from Asturia, Norhtern Spain, that revisits essential themes in the discography of Mike Oldfield. Six musicians who take Oldfield's original music to a live stage in a forceful way and reproduce the iconic themes that Mike played during his career on various tours throughout the world.
The band format makes the Oldfield themes acquire a powerful live flavour, unmistakable for all fans of the legendary musician and his repertoire. In fact, Oldfield used the quintet or sextet format quite a lot during his tours in the late 70's to mid 80's and Tubular Tribute will truly make you remember this particular sound and will transport you back in time. Quality musicians, a well-cared for sound and a directness that does not leave indifferent. Even if you don't know Oldfield's music, which is weird in itself, you'll love it. And if you already know Mike and his repertoire, you'll once again fall in love with it, and travel back in time. Tubular Tribute are: Richard García (keyboards and background vocals), Luis Senén Fernández (drums and percussion), Kike García (bass), Ariane Valdivié (lead vocals and trumpet), Ángel Secades (guitars) and Rubén Álvarez (guitars and mandolin).
In 2018, the band was invited to play at an event in England in honour of the 45th anniversary of the iconic album "Tubular Bells". The performance of the Spaniards brought the house down, a better compliment is hard to imagine!
