The John Martyn Project

The John Martyn Project is a unique tribute to the music of the much admired, late great English guitarist and singer John Martyn. Expect particularly tasteful renditions of his classics.
The John Martyn Project is an initiative of four prominent vocalists and instrumentalists. Although it was originally intended as a one-off, Blythe Pepino, Kit Hawes, Sam Brookes and Pete Josef decided to take their Project on tour after a few sold-out shows. Blythe Pepino is known as the front woman of the group Vaults and has toured with London Grammar, among others. Kit Hawes is a virtuoso guitarist, composer and singer-songwriter who has travelled around the world with artists such as Seth Lakeman, Cara Dillon and Yola. After the release of his debut album, Sam Brookes was deemed "Breaking Act" by the Sunday Times. He was, among other things, support act for Willy Mason, Scott Matthews and Joan Armatrading. The fourth initiator of The John Martyn Project is Pete Josef, a soul singer at heart, but also a talented multi-instrumentalist. In this capacity he can be heard on various studio productions, the Glastonbury Festival and in Jools Holland's program. As icing on the cake, the foursome is supported by a unique and creative rhythm section: bassist John Blakeley and drummer Jon Short are known from, among others, Yola and Sheelanagig.
