The Doors in Concert take you to the heyday of The Doors in the late 1960s, with songs such as Light my Fire, Love her Madly, L.A. Woman and Riders on the Storm. The singer has the looks and voice of Jim Morrison, the keyboard player shows astonishing resemblance to Ray Manzarek, the guitarist plays and sounds like Robby Krieger and the drummer comes eerily close John Densmore.
Authenticity is the trademark of these musicians. Only original instruments are used to match the sound of The Doors’ live concerts, such as the Vox Continental, Gibson G-101 and the Gibson SG. Naturally the keyboard player plays the bass parts with his left hand on a historically correct Fender Rhodes Piano Bass with silver or gold top, just like Ray Manzarek. In addition, the band uses old Fender amplifiers and original microphones. ‘The sound of The Doors on stage was often more interesting and pure than that of the studio performances,’ according to the tribute band. The band members are inspired by the various live CD’s from the concerts “Live at the Aquarius Theater”, “Live in Pittsburgh”, “Live in New York”, “Live in Stockholm”, “Live at the Matrix” and “In Concert”.
