The Dame

The Dame has been invited to participate in the Francis Dunnery's charity festival! We know Francis Dunnery as frontman of It Bites and guitarist with Robert Plant. Today he is a solo artist, psychologist and astrologer. Dunnery, who lives in the USA, returns annually to his birthplace in the Lake District (UK) to organize the charity festival, which attracts visitors from all parts of the world. In recent years, Robert Plant and Steve Hackett, among others, have appeared. This year the festival is online. The Dame will play at De Boerderij on Thursday evening 8 October. This concert will be recorded and then streamed during the charity festival.
The Dame made their debut in 2018 with their album "Losing Sight Of What You Want". The music has been described as 'sexy chic progressive rock'. This applies not only to the music, but also to the band's stage performance. Atmospheric songs with Marian van Charante's characteristic dark, warm voice. Also striking is only 17-year-old keyboard player Thijs de Ruijter, with his astonishing piano playing, sometimes jazzy, sometimes rocking or experimental. Positive reviews of the debut album led to gigs in the Netherlands and in February 2020 five successful gigs in the UK were to follow. The band is currently busy writing their second album. The Dame is: Marian van Charante - Vocals, guitar Stephen de Ruijter - Lead guitar Michel Krempel - Bass Thijs de Ruijter - Keyboards Remco English - Drums
