Following a documentary on Dutch television entitled "The Wizard of Dutch Pop" Robert Jan Stips wrote a new album full of new music, surprisingly fitting into the frame of his first band: SUPERSISTER.
In honour of the band, whose bassist Ron van Eck and flutist Sacha van Geest are already deceased, RJ invited, besides original Supersister drummer Marco Vrolijk, many friends from his more than 50 years of active music life (including Golden Earring, NITS, Freek de Jonge) and recorded the album "RETSIS REPUS" with aforementioned musicians aptly entitled "SUPERSISTER PROJEKT 2019".
In April this year they also performed the album live twice at the Paard and Paradiso. Because these concerts were both brilliant, fun and successful, an exclusive club tour has been planned in October. Reduced to a 4-piece band with frontman Robert Jan Stips (keys/vocals), Marieke Brokamp (violin), Bart Wijtman (bass) and Leon Klaasse (drums) they play a mix of well-known old and newly released SUPERSISTER material.
