The Haarlem rock band Sjako! is back! The band is considered to be one of the most important and influential bands within the Dutch music scene. Between 1988 and 1994 Sjako! blew audiences away in the Dutch club circuit, they even performed at major foreign festivals such as Roskilde in Denmark.
Sjako! continued to release albums and perform in various line-ups. The album Livewire (produced by George Kooymans of Golden Earring fame) and the 2 Meter Sessions are legendary. Hurt is on the list of most beautiful songs ever. In March last year, the members of the 88-94 trio decided it was time to put their heads together and find out if the trinity still had its blistering energy. It was quickly concluded that they simply had to continue playing! The inevitable reunion of the three original members followed on with a successful club tour called Back To Trio.
With no mind for stopping, Wouter Planteijdt (vocals, guitars), Jaap Vrenegoor (drums) and Thijs Vermeulen (bass) will be back on stage in 2024. And with a new album under their belt!
