The English jazz-funk band Shakatak scored big hits in the 1980s with Down On The Street and Night Birds. Their debut album Drivin' Hard is on the record shelves of many jazz and funk enthusiasts around the world. Their live reputation preceeds them: top-notch musicianship with enthusiasm and energy felt throughout the room.
After their tour last year, guitarist Alan Wormald died unexpectedly. Alan was with the band for 30 years and made an invaluable contribution to the band. After an appropriate break, the band chose to continue, also because Alan himself would have quoted the old saying "the show must go on". There was only one obvious person to fill the guitar role and that was original member Keith Winter. So after 35 years Shakatak is back in the original line up. With the new album Eyes To The World just released, Shakatak is looking forward to a fifth decade of recordings and live performances worldwide!
