Mell & Vintage Future

As part of the UITfestival Zoetermeer, Mell & Vintage Future will take the stage of the Boerderij on September 19. This Dutch trio plays a challenging mix of roots, rhythm 'n blues and soul. When two musical veterans, Nico Brandsen (Hammond organ/bass pedals) and Ton Dijkman (drums), met with an attractive newcomer with a great voice, Mell & Vintage Future was born!
In her relatively short career, Mell's (Melanie Jonk) impressive television appearances drew the attention of producer duo Brandsen and Dijkman. Hammond player Nico Brandsen worked with Dutch greats such as Ilse de Lange, Kane and Jan Akkerman. He is widely known for his so called 'edgy magic' on vintage equipment. Drummer Ton Dijkman played as a session musician on loads of albums. He has been Marco Borsato's drummer for decades. In recent years, tracks such as 'Call my name', 'Central Station' and 'Forever' were often heard on Dutch radio. Their debut album "Mell & Vintage Future" was released in 2019. Followed by the album "Roots & Romance" (2021). Take this unique opportunity to see these sympathetic musicians at De Boerderij as closing event of the UIT festival Zoetermeer! During the festival, Zoetermeer residents are introduced to the rich cultural offer of the city in an accessible way. They also get a taste of art and cultural activities for the coming season.
