Massada has managed to secure a special place in the Dutch music scene. Founder Johnny Manuhutu laid the foundations of the band in the 1970s, which largely consists of Moluccan musicians. As part of the 50th anniversary of Massada, the group is doing an anniversary tour.
The band is renowned for their dynamic and exciting shows. An important aspect is the percussion and the accompanying rhythms. Throughout its musical career, Massada has always managed to secure the services of talented percussionists. The current percussion line up of Massada is considered to be one of the best in the Netherlands.
