In 2021, Jethro Tull will celebrate the 50th anniversary of their groundbreaking album “Aqualung”, the album that put the band in the spotlight. During this worldwide tour, Jethro Tull's guitarist Martin Barre, known for his formidable mastery of historical riffs, power chords and soaring melodic solos, and his band will perform the iconic album in its entirety. The show will also feature other Tull classics and some surprises.
Martin Barre was Jethro Tull’s guitarist from 1968 to 2012. Barre’s sound and playing were undeniably a major factor in their success. The band has already sold more than 60 million records. Martin’s guitar playing on the Aqualung album’s title track Aqualung has been named one of the 20 greatest guitar solos of all time (MusicRadar, Guitar World and many others). In 1988 his performance on the album “Crest of a Knave” earned him a Grammy Award. In addition to countless Jethro Tull albums, Martin has collaborated with many other artists including Paul McCartney, Phil Collins, Gary Moore and Joe Bonamassa and shared the stage with legends such as Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac and Pink Floyd. The Martin Barre Band also consists of Dan Crisp on lead vocals, Alan Thomson on bass and Darby Todd on drums.
