JJ Sharp & The Salty Dog (sold out)

Blues on Sunday at the Boerderij has been a household name for many blues fans for years. Six Sunday afternoons each year, the Podiumcafé is lively and visitors enjoy live blues music, performed by old warriors and young pretenders. In order to be able to program this blues afternoon and at the same time apply the current guidelines and advice from the government and the RIVM (Dutch National Institute for Public Health and Environment) - such as the 1.5 mtr rule - Blues is moving to the CreativeColors hall on Sunday for now. A number of things will therefore be different. For example, shows will be seated-only: the hall is furnished with chairs and tables. You can buy a solo ticket where you find yourself at 1.5 meters distance from other visitors, or a duo ticket: two linked tickets, enabling you to enjoy the show together. Drinks and snacks are ordered and served at your table. PLEASE NOTE: ticket sales for these Blues on Sunday events can ONLY be obtained via presale. There will be no box office. Of course, this will not change the familiar and cosy atmosphere during a blues afternoon at the Boerderij!
JJ Sharp & The Salty Dog brings a rare mix of powerful songs interspersed with raw blues and slow ballads. The band plays their material combined with songs from BB-King, Eric Clapton, Albert King, Allman Brothers and Procol Harum. The band originated from the collaboration of blues singer and harmonica player Jan J. Scherpenzeel (JJ Sharp) with the band The Salty Dog. Jan is known for The Twelve Bar Blues Band, Oberg and the JJ Sharp Band, but with The Salty Dog he unites 'the best of both worlds'. In its current form, the band exists since mid-2018, when singer and harmonica player Jan J. Scherpenzeel and keyboardist Eddy van de Bunte crossed paths. Both men have decades of music experience behind them. With guitar hero Alex Buiting, bassist Bub Boelens and drummer Inigo Gramsbergen they form a cast-iron line-up that has everything it takes to establish themselves in the upper echelons of the Dutch blues scene once again. A band that captivates from start to finish!
