Anathema (Sold out)

The development of Anathema is impressive. There are more bands that have reinvented themselves, but Anathema has developed from doom metal pioneers to (prog) rock greats. Expect to be impressed by an electrifying show!
The Liverpool group developed doom metal together with bands like Paradise Lost and My Dying Bride in the 1990s. From 1996 on, the sound of Anathema changed. Doom metal gave way to a more atmospheric, melodic and progressive sound. In 1999, when the album "Judgment" was released, the transformation of Anathema was complete. Through the wonderful "A Fine Day To Exit" (2001), the Cavanagh brothers' path led to the atmospheric progrock of "A Natural Disaster" (2003). With albums such as "We're Here Because We're Here" (2010), "Weather Systems" (2012) and "The Optimist" (2017) they made it to the top of the table in the prog scene. Comparisons with Porcupine Tree, Dream Theater, Tool and Opeth are regularly made.
