AJ Plug + Beaux Gris Gris & The Apocalypse



During this co-headline show AJ Plug and Beaux Gris & The Apocalypse, the new blues project of The Hoax's founding member Robin Davey and Greta Valenti (Well Hung Heart), will enter the stage. AJ Plug is currently one of the most popular Dutch blues musicians. Beaux Gris Gris is inspired by the music of New Orleans. The flamboyant Greta Valenti will dazzle many a fan with her impressive stage performance. In addition to Davey, drummer Mark Barret from The Hoax is also present.

    Singer AJ Plug is seen as one of the most impressive blues ladies the Dutch blues scene has produced in recent years. Johan Derksen, influential Dutch ambassador of the blues, does not hide his admiration for AJ Plug. In addition to the performances of her own band, AJ Plug also participates in Johan Derksen's theatre show, 'Johan Derksen keeps the Blues Alive'. After the release of her debut album "Let Go Or Be Dragged" (2014) her career skyrocketed. She released several successful albums. Her latest album, "Barefoot The Grolloo Takes" (2018) is a pure and honest album. On this acoustic album you can feel the blues and you get sucked into the sensitive songs. In short, this lady is immensely ersatile and her live performances are more than worth your while! Special Guest during this show is harmonica/Hammond player Tollak Ollestad. He previously shared the stage with greats such as Don Henley, Andrea Bocelli, Chet Atkins and can be heard on albums by artists like Al Jarreau, Earth Wind and Fire, Natalie Cole, Gino Vannelli and Christopher Cross.

    The British guitarist Robin Davey is known from The Hoax, his collaboration with Guy Forsyth and with the colourful singer Greta Valenti with whom he plays in the band Well Hung Heart. Davey and Greta have recently started a new project entitled Beaux Gris Gris & The Apocalypse. After rehearsals and live performances at famous New Orleans venues Tipitina and D.B.A in Frenchmenstreet, witnessed by the Neville Brothers' sons (owners of D.B.A.), they were urged to enter the studio. Their new album "Love & Murder" (2018) is now available in stores everywhere.
