Tom Browne & Band

Tom Browne aka 'Mr. Jamaica Funk' has been one of the big stars on trumpet since the 1970's. He is very familliar with both jazz, funk, disco and R&B, and it shows. He broke through in the New York jazz scene under the wings of saxophonist Sonny Fortune and Lonnie Smith and became known worldwide with his 1981 super hit 'Funkin for Jamaica (N.Y.)'.
After a while things started to get real quiet around Browne: he realized his dream of becoming a pilot. Fortunately for us, music lovers, he made a comeback in the mid 90's, with the critically acclaimed album "Another Shade of Browne", on which he collaborates with none less than bass player Ron Carter. Tonight singer Joyce San Mateo, Jay-Tee Teterissa-Malawau on bass; Jonn Reyna on keys; Julian Souisa on guitar and Davy Andy Henket on drums will join Tom Browne.
